The Space Propulsion Plasma Laboratory is dedicated to advancing the field of space electric propulsion systems for and deep space exploration and satellite missions. Our research also encompasses applied plasma technologies for both aerospace and industrial applications. The principal research areas include:
- 1. Development of Advanced Space Electric Propulsion Systems for satellite application
- Focused on Hall thrusters, ion thrusters, and pulsed plasma thrusters to support small satellite missions and space exploration. - 2. Plasma and Ion Beam Diagnostics and Applications
- Comprehensive diagnostics of applied plasma and ion beam sources - 3. Space Environment Test and Thermal and Vacuum Analysis
Recent Projects
- 1. Vacuum Test Facility for Electric Thrusters for Space Exploration
- 2. Performance Assessment of a 200 mN class Hall Thruster
- 3. Micro Space Electric Thruster Using Low-cost Alternative Propellant
- 4. Plasma-fluid modeling and catalytic surface analysis for methane activation processes
